[Q] Windows mobile 5 and Android device

Hello Guys,

I have a very tricky question for you, so if it is not possible to do what I want, tell me.

I work with bats and I need a windows mobile 5 device to make a connection with a bat detector.
I also have a HTC One X "global edition" and a malfunctioning HTC HD2 "Leo" that I think it that can be repaired (it fell in the water and the backlight is not working). The first one is running the newest Sense and Android 4.2.2 and the last one has a ICS ROM.

What I am asking you guys is:

It as any way to running the WM5 in the HTC One X using a "emulator" or something?

Or you think that is "easier and cheaper" to repair the HTC Leo and downgrade to WM5?

The program that I need to use is capable to running in WM6 but not in all devices.

Hello there!
I've been and still am a long time user of WM6.5 (although my phone is hardly the brightest, even in comparison with other WM devices) and really enjoyed fooling around in Visual Studio with this fine mobile OS. Although I'm generally spending my time in Unity3D, I decided to go back to this lovely platform and build some proper apps for it, do some actual development.
And here is where your part comes: I want YOUR ideas or requests for apps! Have a great idea for a WM6.5 app, please let me know! Need an app for something in particular, again, please post!
The more suggestions, the better I can pick one and start tinkering with it. One note though: due to my phone's limitations, bare in mind that I have no way to do anything that involves accelerometers or multitouch.

Looking forward to hear your proposals!

[Q] Camera button does not shoot, Just focuses!

Hi everybody

:confused:
I have a xperia x2 phone and it was working great with some midifications on it. but suddenly (without any events) its camera went crazy and it just focuses now! (Pressing it does not shoot or launch camera app.) I hard reseted the phone, updated with SEUS and even gave it to a repairman but it's not fixed yet.
I think it's a registery problem made by AEbutton plus. Can anyone help me to fix it?...

Is there a registry hack for this maybe ? Found only that there's an app to remove all sounds, nothing on these forums (maybe searched wrong categories)
I have omnia pro 4 gt-b7350 and previously had SE aspen, on both I think I can't find the option to turn off this annoying sound when you press keypad keys to dial a number

A2DP from windows mobile 6 to hearing aids?

Hi!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, so if I am wring, please let me know where to post it.

I would like to use my older smartphone (an HTC touch diamond 1) as an mp3 player for my daughter. She has hearing aids capable of using bluetooth, the device actually receiving bluetooth is known as "Oticon Streamer".
I tried installing A2DP toggler, the program seems to work in general (I can connect to the Oticon Streamer, it is recognized as bluetooth headset, I can only switch A2DP on while streamer is actually on and connected), but eventually it does not work: sound comes always and only through the speakers. For playing music (mostly mp3) I am using mort player.

Do I need special software for playing music files when I want to send them to A2DP or is there something I could try to make it working?

Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks!

I have a Clarion car radio running WinCE 6.0 (pure, no Chinese hybrid). Been toying around with it for a bit, and apparently messed it up somehow.

Normally, the device would run \Hard Disk\SW_Update\UpdateUtility.exe, if a USB stick (mounted at \Hard Disk) is present during boot. This utility allows to replace the stuff stored in \NandFlash with an image on the SD card. This is simply a zip file, so easy to mess around with. Which I did, and everytime I went too far I just reflashed an older image over it using this update mechanism.

Now, the update mechanism no longer showed when the device boots with the update utility on the inserted USB stick. It still booted into CE desktop, so I figured let's go back and start from scratch. I manually started the UpdateUtility.exe and placed back the original firmware back, update completed successfully.

Rebooted the device, and it "hangs" at the manufacturers splash screen. Their main menu never shows. The update utility is no longer invoked. The SD card with \2577\autorun.exe trick doesn't work either, I'm not entirely sure whether it ever did. This effectively means I can't do **** with the device. I know that it does not completely hang, if I insert an unknown USB device I get a WinCE style popup asking for a driver (which I can't enter, there is no keyboard :laugh:). When I plugin a keyboard it is not asking for a driver, so I believe there's at least some form of a HID driver present, but the keyboard doesn't seem to work.

Now, what are my options for unbricking this device? I've analysed the device before and all prerequisites for making activesync connections over USB are in place, except, there's no external USB client port available on the device. The circuit board contains a 4-port USB chip though, but I haven't been able to find a second (hidden) USB port yet. Do these devices typically have a USB client port used in their development process? I haven't been able to find it after several hours measuring on the board. :(

Also, the board appears to feature a JTAG connector, but I believe this is to be used to program a second microcontroller on the device, which handles the LCD, the external buttons and retractable screen.

Any ideas?

[Q] Eonon WinCE6.0 Head unit - USB Videos

Hi,

I have been looking round the forums for a specific question and it appears you always have the answers but just not quite exactly what I am after, so someone could help me now.

First some background: I have just bought an Eonon ARM head unit which is running WinCE6 with a very nice shell on it, what I am trying to do is play movies on the device either through the USB or the 'other' SD card slot (not the GPS slot).

I can play videos via the GPS card slot using Vplayer and this does not need to be installed but only plays videos from the GPS SD card. Vplayer doesn't see the 'other' SD Card slot or the USB, The thing is, I don't want to keep swapping the GPS in and out when I want to watch a movie.

I read somewhere that it sounds like my head unit has 2 IC mainsboard... so my questions is: is there any way to either have WinCE recognise the USB/ 'other' SD card OR have the shell not only play music from the USB/SD card but also Videos?

When I use Total Commander I can't see the other SD card or the USB even when they're plugged in.

somebody has an idea how I can unpack the upgrade.LGU file and pack again later?
can´t find tools for this :(

FLIR Hacking

FLIR has a series of thermal imaging cameras that run WinCE. The e4, e5, e6, and e8 all are the same hardware platform that from the e8 down have their features limited via software. There has been quite a lot of reverse engineering done and to date a e4 can be turned into a e8 with even some features from the e## series cameras that don't even share the same hardware platform. One common thing with the e# cameras is that they have all been limited to 9 FPS output to the screen and the UVC video output. This is why I am posting here - I would like to know if anyone could assist in removing that limit.

From what I understand about the camera - the sensor puts out 60fps to a FPGA that then does some image processing and outputs a 30FPS stream to WinCE. From there it is then further limited to 9FPS. I have a feeling that the LCDC.DLL driver may be limiting it but lack the ability to understand how.

Is there any interest here into looking into this?

[Q] Installing Andromnia

Hello everyone,

Last time I started tuning and tweaking my Omnia i900. On one of polish webpages I found thread about Andromnia. After downloading whole package and copying i to microSD card I couldn't install it. HARET is running normally, but when I click "Run" it shows something like Linux console and stops. Could you tell me what's the problem or what am I doing wrong?

PS Ask me if you will need some screenshots etc.

Hello everyone,I am a new member here but I have been reading XDA for years,so this is my first post.I recently found a forgotten Tytn II and I want to make some things with it!

1)Where can I find a greek WM 6.1 ROM or a language pack?
2)Why there is no camera app in the official ROM which I installed yesterday?I tried a 3rd party camera app and it didn't work but it's not a hardware problem as with Android 2.2 it's working.
3)Which is the best Android version for this phone?I am thinking,it's Donut 1.6 because it is faster than others and it has full HW working (Wifi,Camera,GPS etc).

Please answer as many questions as you can!

which is now broken, gets stuck in (boot) image, "more screen saver"
I turn on the gps radio and only show screen saver (reversing camera is working I can see image)

[Q] Screen Rotation Issue, Erisin ES788G

Hi, looking for some help after searching everywhere to try and solve this.

Problem is with a Chinese AIO unit (erisin.com/erisin-es788g-7-1-din-in-dash-touchscreen-in-car-dvd_p323.html) running WinCE 6.0.


I'm trying to permanently rotate the screen 180 degrees.

I'm locked out of the wince desktop and any programs i use i have to launch from setting the sat nav path to a diffrent .exe.

I started by trying to change the registry value [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation] but this had no effect :/ Might be the unit resetting the value or the crappy regedit tool i used.

I then popped ceFFM on the SD card and installed that (a few couldn't create shortcut errors), when running CEMenu.exe the rotate button (helpers\CeScreenRotate.exe) will set the screen rotation how i want it (when pressed twice) but will not stay like it if the unit is restarted.

Any help with making the unit boot up with an already rotated screen will be very much appreciated as it's starting to make me go insane!

[Q] Android on Motorola MC65

Hello,

My company has recently developed an application. This is a single page application for data collection.
The app works fine on android / IOS devices in the native browser.
However, we have a whole fleet of the Motorola MC65 devices. They run windows mobile 6.5 and they do not properly load the page.
Can anyone give any advice on a possible rom for this device?

Hi!

I have a ZyXel USG20w at a custome's site and a handheld device with windows mobile 6.5 which I would like to connect via VPN to it, L2TP/IPSec is setup and working via windows 7 but not with the windows mobile 6.5 device..Level 1 ZyXel told me it's an issue with Phase 2 negotiation not being done properly but could not elaborate more.

I called Motorola the manufacturer of the handheld and Fishbowl Inventory the software i'm gonna be using it with, no one seems to be able to help with the setup. Any suggestions? Thx

In Windows 8,
Microsoft quietly removed a useful
networking feature: ad-hoc
networks.
In Windows7 (and previous OSes), the tool
could turn your PC into a
Wi-Fi hot spot, allowing it to share its
Ethernet or other Internet
connection with other devices by
broadcasting its own network.
So, if you paid for Internet access at a cafe,
or you're at work, and
want to share your PC's Internet with your
phone or tablet, this feature
would let you do that.
It is very possible to do this in Windows 8,
but the built-in method
requires fiddling with the command prompt.
And for some of us,
walking into that black abyss is daunting.
Instead, check out Virtual Router Plus. It's a
free, open-source program
that does the geek work for you, allowing
you to quickly fire up an ad-
hoc network whenever you need one.
Once you've downloaded the file, extract it,
and launch the
VirtualRouterPlus file within that folder.
There's no real installation
here -- the program will simply launch.
At this point, setup is easy. Enter a name for
your network, then
choose a secure password with at least
eight characters. Finally,
choose the connection you want to share
(there will most likely only
be one choice), and click Start.
To test it out, grab your phone or tablet and
connect to your newly
created Wi-Fi network. If it doesn't show
up, stop the connection on
your computer, and hit Start again.
Also remember that your computer needs
to stay awake and running to
keep its ad-hoc network alive. So, tweak
your power settings if need

[Q] WinCE 4.2 gps device, access to windows files? (SOLVED)

Have Tevion gps device, wince 4.2, no usb port, just sd card. It have Igo8 software that loads automatically on boot. I managed to unlock device with some program and gain access to all win folders. Then, accidentally, I moved some important file from Flash Disk on internal memory and now device just boot to splash screen and nothing more. That file called Igolaunch.exe and I have it, just don't have access anymore to windows files to copy it on right place. Without that file device don't know what to do, and do nothing, just boot to splash image. The windows files, registry, are intact, just need to copy back Igolaunch.exe to it's original location. So, is there any way to gain access to win files again, like force load some explorer from sd card on boot, or something like that, just to copy back the file? Any other solution, some reset, maybe? Thanks.
